I was interviewed by KMSU, the Minnesota State University at Mankato radio station. I talked about Kings of the F**king Sea, appropriation, Birds, LLC, the editorial process, and the books of Emily Pettit and Dan Magers.
Interviewed by Amy Fladeboe. Thanks to Amy for giving me a call!
Here is more about the interview:
Dan Boel’s poetry collection, Kings of The F**king Sea follows a thirty-something American male on his adventure to confront his quarter-life crisis. He’s bogged down with the 9-5 live to work existence, so he does what any guy in a rut would do and joins a crew of pirates, takes to the sea, and begins a new life of smuggling and facing the everyday perils of the ocean. This book follows him away and home again. In this interview, you’ll gain some insight into Dan’s inspiration, his craft, and his collaboration with artist Jonathan Marshall.
